PERSONALITY

➸ Despite he's half demon, he appears to be a very calm person. It is because he swore never to use his magic ever again to make other Shadowhunters see that not all demon-blooded creatures are quick to pick a fight with them. He trained his temper, magic and his body.

➸ However, if his companions or friends are harmed in any way, he is greatly angered. And oh boy noone would want to witness that.

➸ When Zavier gets angry enough, his demonic power would take over, turning his eyes to his demonic nature and giving him a boost to his strength, speed and durability.

➸ He bottled up all his other emotions, he rarely showing it to anyone. As he thinks emotions show how broken he actually is inside.

➸ In each battle he is brought to face, he is seen to be quite confident in defeating his opponets. In time of trouble, he doesn't easily back down. 'Better die while trying than doing nothing' is his motto.

➸ He also has a strong sense of justice and if he's able to do so always willing to help those in distress, with all of his might.

➸ It has been hinted that Zavier is possibly feeling guilty over the fate of his parabatai, it haunted him until this day that it was his fault.

BACKSTORY

Zavier was born as a 𝑾𝑨𝑹𝑳𝑶𝑪𝑲. [ The reason that the other half of a Warlock is always a Mundane is because when a demon impregnates a Shadowhunter it always leads to miscarriage. This is because the angelic blood of Shadowhunters and the angelic power of the runes that marks the Shadowhunter's skin makes it impossible of the demon part of the child to survive. Except for few special cases.] One of them is Zavier, though that's not his birth name. Zavier survived because his mother was an unmarked Shadowhunter.

Every warlock has a mark that identifies them. In Zavier's case, his eyes turned into black colour when he's angry. His warlock mark didn't show up until he was about nine years old. Before that he had only shown a few signs of power.

When he was thirteen years old, his mother realized his eyes were a sign that he was part demon. She could not handle the fact that she bore the son of a demon, so she committed suicide. He found his mother in pool of blood, moments before his step-father did. His step-father blamed him for his mother's death. Zavier then got scared and put him into flame.

And from then on, Zavier was taken away from all he ever known into a new world.

Shadowhunter blood breeds true, and the children of Shadowhunters will be Shadowhunters, even if their parents have left, even if their Marks have been stripped. Their children, even future children, remain Shadowhunters by blood and may be claimed by the Clave.

And that happened to Zavier, he was then raised among Shadowhunters in New York Institute as an orphan. He was put in The Institute under the guidance of Carstairs.

It has been a norm for the Warlocks to change their names in a way that is similar to the Shadowhunters when they ascend, specially the new ones. Zavier then goes by the surname of Carstairs family and was given his actual name. The young boy also accepted the given name without much question or protest. He didn't want his real name. He said he couldn't remember it anyways now, so that was fine.

Zavier actually originated as a Basque surname derived from a place name, from the Basque word “Etcheberria” meaning “the new house”

As a Shadowhunter, Zavier is also able to perform tasks unique to their species, such as the ability to use and call on the power of angels for his seraph blade (which he called 𝓡𝓮𝓶𝓲𝓮𝓵)
as well as to handle any heavenly weapons or objects or tools forged by Iron Sisters.

𝑵𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒍 𝒇𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒔𝒌𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒔:

Zavier (as any shadowhunters raised in the Institute) is also trained to battle with weapons improvised from the environment, in the event that weapons are not available, and even without weapons, using only their own body, strength and speed as a weapon. Zavier possesses good instincts and reflexes and is able to handle himself in a battle since his young teenage years.

𝑩𝒂𝒔𝒊𝒄 𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒍𝒐𝒄𝒌 𝒎𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒄:

As a warlock, Zavier is immortal. Zav has also some basic magical capabilites which he learnt to control during his teenage years. The full extent is still unknown. His magical powers often manifest themselves as flames or smoky sparks at his fingertips.

additional note: Remiel is a powerful angel and one of Lucifer's siblings. Lucifer is a Greater Demon and one of the Princes of Hell.
